Our signature clutch, hand made from vintage 'obi': the sash worn with kimono at formal occasions.
The design motifs featured on this clutch are all symbols of longevity. Graceful silver and gold Tsuru, fly across clutch. The crane frequently appears on wedding kimono as it represents hope, longevity and good fortune because of it’s fabled thousand year life span. It also represents fidelity, as cranes are known to mate for life.
Matsu, the Pine Tree, is a hardy plant that symbolises strength and long life. Kikkou resembles the tortoise shell, and the tortoise was thought to live for one thousand years.
