Our signature clutch, hand made from vintage 'obi': the sash worn with kimono at formal occasions.

Classic gold Choucho, butterflies, flutter over this black obi.  They have been a popular symbol the Nara period, 710 to 794AD.  They are signs of joy and longevity. 

NB - the white embroidered area on the reverse of the bag has a small area of discolouration, this is from the ageing process.

This vintage Fukuro Obi was sourced from the Osaka area of Japan.  It is approximately 20 to 30 years old, and in excellent condition.
