The multicoloured ‘nami’ waves fold gently into each other, surrounded by ‘nadeshiko’ and ’kiku’ flowers.  Nadeshiko are symbol of femininity.  Many womens’ groups or teams are called by this flower, including Japan women’s football team. The Kiku, chrysanthemum, is the Flower of the Imperial House and and often used icon of Japan itself and represents rejuvenation and longevity.

This vintage kimono was sourced from the Osaka area of Japan.  It is approximately 30 years old.

Handmade by self help groups in Cambodia.
