Fukuro Obi Clutch 5038A

$225.00 USD

| /

Our signature clutch, hand made from vintage 'obi': the sash worn with kimono at formal occasions.

A classical bold pattern of gold/silver and red 'tsuru' crane, on bright green silk base. This motif frequently appears on wedding kimono as it represents hope, longevity and good fortune, because of its fabled life span of a thousand years. It also represents fidelity, as Japanese cranes are known to pair for life.

This vintage Fukuro Obi was sourced from the Osaka area of Japan.  It is approximately 30 to 40 years old, and in excellent condition.

Handmade by self help groups in Cambodia.

Dimensions: 30cm x 21cm
